- Rubber, when not being worn and admired, likes to sleep on it's back or hanging up...otherwise it will get bent out of shape, and believe me, there's no repairing it's attitude after that (we've tried)!
- Your rubber likes the dark, feed it darkness whenever you are not wearing it...(y'know, like a shelf in your closet). Sunlight won't harm your rubber, but like anything else, it will make the color fade after a while.
- If your rubber is naughty and gets itself dirty, give it a bath! Your rubber is much stronger than latex, but we recommend warm water and mild soap to make your rubber happy. Then just towel dry or lay it down for a nap, and it will again be ready to hit the clubs with you.
- When you first get your rubber, it may seem nervous and sweaty. DON'T PANIC!! Get to know your rubber by giving it a quick massage (fingertips or a soft paintbrush will work). Your rubber will love you for this and quickly become your friend. Massage the oils your rubber naturally produces every time before you wear it, this will make it shine with happiness. After a while (and depending on how often you wash it) your rubber will stop producing it's own oil, so there's some more information on recommended massage oils in the next section.
- Massage Oils: Your rubber will naturally produce it's own oils for a while, but if you want to treat it with something more, here is a list of recommended products:
- Wet Platinum (our favorite): This is a silicone-based lubricant. The shine lasts for hours and does not rub off easily.
- Slick Latex Polish
- Black Beauty
- Since your rubber is not latex based you can even use petroleum jelly without fear of damaging it.
Essentially, your rubber is very resilient and will be happy with whatever you choose to use to make it shiny and pretty!
If you follow these instructions, you and your rubber will have a wonderful relationship! If you have a question that is not answered here, you can check our F.A.Q., or email us with your question.
